Oh, I completely forgot how much I loved your tumblr.
I love your description too, and your name. Lena :]
I'm a student too. What are you studying?
That’s so kind of you to say — your Tumblr is one of my favourites. I’ve been neglecting mine of late, been busy with school and other things. I’m currently in my final year of a double degree (Science with a Psychology major/Law). I’m still very much clueless about where I want to go and what I want to do after I graduate … which scarily will be not as far away as it’s always seemed. What are you studying?
“Each one of us is alone in the world. He is shut in a tower of brass, and can communicate with his fellows only by signs, and the signs have no common value, so that their sense is vague and uncertain. We seek pitifully to convey to others the treasures of our heart, but they have not the power to accept them, and so we go lonely, side by side but not together, unable to know our fellows and unknown by them. We are like people living in a country whose language they know so little that, with all manner of beautiful and profound things to say, they are condemned to the banalities of the conversation manual. The brain is seething with ideas, and they can only tell you the umbrella of the gardener’s aunt is in the house.”—W. Somerset Maugham, The Moon and Sixpence (via themagiclantern) (via aslihan) (via bugseatbooks) (via booklover)
There’s a love that transcends all that we’ve known of ourselves And I’ll wait for it to come, I’ll wait for it to come Well it’s got to be strong to touch my heart through its shell And I’ll wait for it come, I’ll wait for it come
“The idea that you might end up in a job that doesn’t allow you to be who you are, over the course of a lifetime, is still one of the most chilling nightmares to me. It’s a good metaphor for fears I have about losing my soul in some accidental, mundane way. So, to me, these jobs that my characters have are very loaded. They immediately suggest a complex character to me, a woman who is, say, a secretary, but also a vigilante on behalf of her own soul.”—Miranda July (via libraryland) (via lotusohm) (via booklover)
“Seek out that particular mental attribute which makes you feel most deeply and vitally alive, along with which comes the inner voice which says, ‘This is the real me,’ and when you have found that attitude, follow it.”—James Truslow (via kari-shma) (via quote-book) (via confashion) (via booklover)
